Have you ever wondered about your great great grandparents, for instance what they were like and how they lived? Your parents can't tell you much about them but you may be lucky enough to have a picture of them.
It is fascinating to search your family tree and find out about a relative who crossed the Delaware with Washington or one who was in the theater when Lincoln was shot. You just never know who in history you may be related to.
There are places to go to check this out like the library or by researching Court Records. If you have a name and a date you will have an advantage as you could get a hit very quickly. You will find not only the relative you were searching for but you will get all the siblings, who they married and their children. You will be able to check them out by getting birth or death certificates through the Court houses. Also most cities have a history center that has all the census information, ever since they started to take them.
Almost all libraries have books about the surrounding counties and the families that migrated there as well as their spouses families. They are really quite informative in the sense that they have done all the leg work for you. If you would like pictures of where they lived, then you would have to travel to their hometown to see for yourself.
